This is the week that you just can’t miss Monster Jam on Speed TV in prime time Thursday and Saturday nights, featuring expanded coverage of the Monster Jam NGK Spark Plugs World Finals 9 from Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. eastern time it’s the start to finish battle for the World Racing Championship, then Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. eastern Speed TV presents the expanded two hours of coverage of the quest for the World Freestyle Championship. HD coverage of the sport’s greatest night is something you have to see, and definitely set those DVR’s and recorders so you can check it out again and again.
Thursday night’s coverage of the entire racing bracket is some of the most riveting racing action Monster Jam has ever seen. The table was set for the greatest night of racing ever in round one when virtually every opening round battle came down to a photo finish, and that competitiveness continued round after round, all the way up to a drama filled Championship Race. I left Las Vegas believing this was the best night of racing, round by round, that we had ever seen, and now seeing it again on video I’m still convinced that that is the case. With all 24 trucks determined to make their own name in World Championship lore at Sam Boyd Stadium, and with more parity in the sport now than at any time in Monster Jam history, the on track battle for the coveted racing title provided the closest finishes and the best races ever. And throughout the night a series of riveting story lines make this an incredible hour of Monster Jam racing coming to Speed.
Then Saturday night the network expands Monster Jam to two hours for the first time, which is awesome because now fans will get to see each and every one of the 24 freestyle runs in their entirety, including all of the bonus time runs that we saw at WF9. The freestyle coverage on Speed TV is presented in the exact order that the event happened live, which means you do not want to tune in late. The first freestyle of the night, from Chad Tingler in the Monster Mutt Dalmatian, was truly amazing, as the Team Grave Digger driver set the bar unbelievably high with a performance that fans who were there live are still talking about.
The extra hour on television also allows all of the drama to unfold as it did live, and so many captivating stories are played out in this two hour quest for a balance between amazing moves and unprecedented carnage, and again, because of the expanded coverage of the World Finals Freestyle Championship none of the runs are shortened or edited, fans get to see each and every one start to finish.
It was great last month to witness highlights of this event, the true pinnacle of Monster Jam, being broadcast to so many new fans on the CBS Sports Spectacular, and now we get the perfect complement to that coverage for the millions of fans who follow the sport all year with Speed’s two nights of coverage from the Monster Jam NGK Spark Plugs World Finals 9. Make sure you get the word out to all the Monster Jam fans you know so they don’t miss the broadcast this Thursday and Saturday nights in prime time on Speed TV. As I noted earlier, these are two nights of programming, three hours of the greatest action ever in Monster Jam, and you’ll want those recorders going so you can watch it over and over again. The times again: Thursday night from 8:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. eastern time for the World Racing Championship, and then Saturday the two hour special covering every single run in the World Freestyle Championship from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. eastern time on Speed TV.
