MONSTERS ON MAIN STREET, TEXAS STYLE, THIS WEEKEND


Some say that everything's bigger in Texas, so it seems appropriate that Monster Jam's biggest summer event invades the Lone Star State this weekend when Monster Jam and Ford Trucks present Monsters On Main Street in. League City, TX, and at the beautiful Houston Motorsports Park.

The first two Monsters on Main Street events (2006 in Silva, NC, and 2007 in Crete, IL ) were phenomenal success stories and this year's festivities, coming to one of Monster Jam's most tradition rich areas, figures to be even more spectacular.

Michelle Stockton of League City, who won the Ford Trucks promotion on line and then claimed the grand prize at the NGK Spark Plugs World Finals in Las Vegas last March, is now the official hostess for the biggest Texas party of the summer. Stockton, her family and friends will be a part of several special events right there in her hometown Friday, highlighted by the biggest Built Ford Tough Party in the Pits that League City has ever seen. The superstars of Monster Jam will be on display with some of the world's premier drivers on hand to meet everyone in League City, then the drivers and crews will join Stockton and her family for a special private dinner that night.

Then the action intensifies on Saturday when Stockton and 4,999 friends and family members head to Houton Motorsports Park to witness live the most intense, spectacular, and entertaining action in all of motorsports with a night full of great racing, awesome freestyles, and much more. As they have done in the past two years officials searched the home area of the Monsters on Main Street winner for the best venue to host the actual competition and they clearly have found a jewel in the Houston Motorsports Park.

Every year since a big truck first crushed a car the Houston area has been home to some of the grandest spectacles in the sport, and our events each year in Reliant Stadium remain some of the sport's highest profile events. With such incredible Monster Jam history established in Houston it's awesome to see that the greatest Monster Jam weekend of the summer is heading into a part of the country where Monster Jam is as popular as it is anywhere in the world.

I'm sure Stockton, her family, and friends are buzzing with excitement in anticipation of hosting their very own Monster Jam event, but if you ask the Shannon family in North Carolina and the Heavner family in Illinois, the winners of the first two Monsters on Main Street events, they'd tell Michelle and her family to get ready for a true once in a lifetime experience, the ultimate weekend for Monster Jam fans. Already the Stockton's have become League City's most popular citizens - you can't imagine how popular people become in their home town when they control 5,000 free tickets to see a huge Monster Jam event live - and this weekend they will be treated like royalty by Ford Trucks and some of Monster Jam's biggest stars.
