DRIVER HISTORY
Ed Eckert
Ed started at 35 years of age. He was a fan for 14 years and would go to all the Jamborees and Thunder Nationals, dreaming one day that he be able to compete himself one day. Later, Ed built his own show truck. Once he was given the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a monster truck and he felt the hoarsepower, he just wanted one for himeself..so he got one. Prior to monster truck racing he owned and operated an auto repair shop, which he currently continues to do. Unfortunately, a motorcycle accident with a deer set him back a little. He broke his right arm in 4 places and his left leg in 3 places. Luckily he could rely on a good backup drive, Ryan Fales. His career highlight was racing in Minneapolis Metrodome some time back. He got 1st place in freestyle and 4th place overall. During that show he catwalked on tailgate for 50 yards which is impressive considering how heavy it is with the leaf spring it has. He has no specific stop on the Monster Jam series, he likes everywhere he goes that has fans and he is given the opportunity to entertain people. What makes him stand out compared to other monster truck drivers is his willingness to win. He really enjoys racing against Larry Jaruzel (Prowler) because they both have egos and they mess with each other a lot and talk trash but outside of all this they are really good friends. The advice he would give to others is to apply yourself 110% at everything you do.
