He has always been in the farm equipment business. He has always owned and continues to own a tractor salvage yard (he has had it for 15 years). He is a part time monster truck driver as he only goes out 10-12 weekends /year. When monster trucks debuted in the late 70s and early 80s he knew that’s what he wanted to do, he wanted to build his own. It was because of a lack of money that had stopped him at the time. He would go to all the shows and go to the pit parties and talk to the drivers and look at all the trucks and how they are built and get ideas as to how he was going to do his. It took him 20 years to do his. In 1998 he started building his first truck. It took approx. 3 years for him to complete it and in 1/03 at the Fargo Dome he debuted his truck. His goal for this season is to have more tv time and up his freestyle a lot. His career highlight was his debut at the Metrodome in 1/03 for the first time. He had 300-400 of his friends and family there. It is the stadium that is closest to his home. His favorite stop on the monster jam series is the Metrodome in Minnesota b/c it is close to home. Every year he invites more and more of his friends and family. This year he gave out 600 tickets. His favorite competitor is Gravedigger because he gives him a good race every time. He built his truck from the ground up and he built a track in his back yard with everything in it that you would see at a show. So he gets a lot of practice. Therefore, he differs from other drivers in that he is always confident going out there and he is not afraid of the truck b/c of the backyard hours that he has. His truck is known for its reliability which is a strong asset. The advice he would give to others is to pretty much do the same thing that he did. Go to pit parties and get down there and ask questions. Take pictures of the frames and the equipment instead of the just the truck. He loves the freestyle portion most of all.
