DRIVER HISTORY
|
 He started at the age of 15. He was first mud racing then sand drag racing then became pro-modified for 9 years. He was rookie of the year and set national records. He was a developer and continues to be a property developer on the side, when he has time. Ever since he became corporately sponsored, his developing became a side job because he no longer had the time. His goal for this year would be to have his bad luck go away. He had much bad luck last year and wants to completely turn it around. One accomplishment he is proud about was “Save of the Year”…he says it was cool. Overall in his career he says the fan base that he has acquired so quickly is awesome. His favorite stop on the series is Atlanta, GA because it is close to home (5 hours away) so he gets to invite a ton of his friends to come. He has been there 3 years in a row and there is only standing room. His favorite guy to race against is Dennis because he used to mud race with him. Dennis moved onto monster trucks whereas Randy moved onto drag racing. So now that they are both monster truck racers, they like to race eachother for old times sake. He also says that as big as Dennis is, he is still down to earth and not cocky. He differs from other drivers in that he is usually the first one to leave the line due to his experience from drag racing. Also, because he is a noncorporate truck, he has to know when to go for broke and when not to. The advice he would give to those looking to get in the industry is to try to get involved with a team. Don’t let anyone bring you down and have persistence. He enjoys talking and hanging out with fans through emails and at shows. Drag racing did not have a fan base like monster trucks do so he really appreciates it.
