DRIVER HISTORY
|
In mid-2004 Nels Wickander hired Daron to work for the King Krunch Racing Team to drive the new el Matador truck. Daron's ability to adapt quietly to any type of track conditions are among his greatest assets as a racer, something that has likely come from his years of experience racing 2-Wheel drive vehicles.
Daron grew up in Salem, Ore., in a racing family. His father, Gary and his older brother and his twin brother started racing 2-wheel drive 62' and 63' model chevy trucks on the pulling truck circuit.
In 2000 Daron and his brother Aaron, started working for Jeff Bainter, owner and driver of the Captian USA monster truck on his pit crew. Seeing some talent and dedication in Daron, Jimmy Creten hired Daron, as a full-time driver for Bearfoot. When Creten disbanded the 2-Extreme Racing Team, Daron was looking for a seat -- Wickander just happened to have one in his new el Matador truck.
Daron's brother, Aaron, drives the Blacksmith monster truck. Is there a chance to see a brother vs. brother match this year?
