DRIVER HISTORY

Growing up on a farm Karl was driving vehicles of various different sizes from an early age, moving on to a career driving Heavy Plant Machinery. He saw Monster Trucks appearing at Truckfest in the UK and his passion for the Sport began.

After customising a Toyota Hi-Lux to make a street legal monster truck and attending modified car shows for many years when a Monster Truck Racing Series began in the UK in 2003 both Karl and his wife Jenny were interested in helping out as track and tech officials. A discussion with a Ride Truck Owner Dave Crosland led to a partnership deal to build a race truck. In November 2003 Dave made the decision to take a job abroad and left the project to Karl and Jenny.

Slingshot debuted in 2004 with a modest 600 BHP petrol engine but Karl proved all the doubters wrong by giving it everything the Truck had and not only competing against Blown Alcohol Engines but beating them in Racing and especially in Freestyle.

In 2005 Karl was given the chance to run in Arnhem, Holland as part of the Monster Jam Europe Tour. Being around such awesome Monster Trucks and Drivers made Karl realise he wanted to improve his Truck to allow him to compete at the same level and so after a year between shows we returned to Arnhem with a much improved Slingshot. During this down time Karl was given the opportunity to drive the Airforce Afterburner at the Monsters on the Beach show in Virginia Beach, USA and driving such a well set-up Monster Truck gave him a lot of insights on how he wanted to develop Slingshot.

2006 saw Karl taking part in the Monster Jam Europe Tour again and with the added experience he has gained through 2007 Karl looks forward to making his mark and becoming a force to be reckoned with in the future.
