Saturday 2PM

(Halifax, NS) Just hours before the first of three events here at Scotia Speedworld, the eastern skies opened up and let loose on the asphalt Monster Jam course. The rain, however, would certainly not be tough enough to stop the ten thousand pound Monster Trucks nor would it prove to deter the fans. In fact, Nova Scotia fans seemed to outnumber the raindrops as they packed into the grandstands, ready to see the greatest motor sports show on the planet. The star-studded Monster Jam lineup included Pure Adrenalin (Chris Baker), Instigator (Lionel Easler), Backdraft (Jeremy Slifko), Eradicator (Andy Slifko), and Grave Digger, driven by crowd favorite Randy Brown. The day kicked off with the Wheelie Competition. Nova Scotia fans went crazy as Randy Brown stood Grave Digger on its rear bumper on route to a winning score of 18 points. Pure Adrenalin scored 17, while Instigator and Backdraft tied at 16. Eradicator rounded out the Wheelie Competition scoring with a tally of 15. Monster Jam Racing Round One paired Instigator against Backdraft, with Instigator getting the narrow margin of victory. In the Round One other race, Eradicator defeated Pure Adrenalin. Randy Brown in Grave Digger got the bye run as a result of his Wheelie Competition win. The Monster Jam Racing Semi Final saw Backdraft return as Fast Loser to take on Grave Digger. Although Jeremy Slifko got off to a great start, he simply did not have enough for Randy Brown in Grave Digger, who stole the victory. Instigator got past Eradicator in the other matchup. The Monster Jam Racing Final was all Grave Digger from start to finish. Driver Randy Brown’s timing was simply perfect as he powered around the massive asphalt course. Fans cheered as the legend from Kill Devil Hills stormed across the finish line in his typical edge-of-control fashion. Following intermission, Randy Brown in Grave Digger continued his winning ways as he won both the Monster Truck Donut Contest and Partsource Freestyle Competition with scores of 22 and 24 points, respectively. Starting the weekend off four-for-four is certainly a good thing for Team Grave Digger and a bad thing for everyone else in the pit area. There is no doubt the rest of the Monster Jam competitors have their work cut out for them the rest of the weekend. In other action, “Big Mama” driver Shawn Purcell won the big truck Tug-Of-War contest against Redneck Woman driver Marion Huey. Be sure to check back for our next report following our 7:00 P.M. show here tonight! (Darren Pallen, Monster Jam Announcer)

Saturday 7:30PM

Halifax, NS) Monster Jam fans and drivers enjoyed much improved weather for tonight’s 7:00 P.M. performance here at Scotia Speedworld. Skies cleared up, the track dried up, and the competitors were ready to rock. After a dominating performance by Randy Brown in Grave Digger earlier this afternoon, the Monster Jam stars were looking to pull out all the stops to try to win even one of the four scheduled events. And for the first time this weekend, they actually succeeded, with talented veteran Andy Slifko in Eradicator picking up the Wheelie Competition win with a score of 24 points. Grave Digger was second with 23, while Pure Adrenalin finished third with a score of 16 points. Backdraft tallied 15, and Instigator scored 13. After winning the Wheelie Competition, Eradicator pilot Andy Slifko was a confident man. So confident, in fact, that he drove his big Dodge right through to the Monster Jam Racing Final against Grave Digger. And although the race was a close one, it would be Grave Digger arriving to the finish line first. Donut Competition action saw Eradicator on top here tonight. Slifko put Eradicator into a massive spin and never let off until the tire smoke drifted away. His score of 24 points sealed the big win. Grave Digger was second with 23, while Backdraft earned an even 20. Instigator scored 19, and Pure Adrenalin ended with just 13 points. The Xtreme Sport Bike Association was in the house tonight and put on an incredible display of two-wheeled riding talent. Halifax fans saw highly-skilled moves like High Chair Wheelies, Stoppies, Flamingos, and Circle Wheelies. They ended things off with a spectacular double-handstand maneuver which brought the excited crowd to its feet. The night ended with Partsource Freestyle Competition. The drivers were on the top of their game as they completely destroyed each and every car stack around the big oval course. For the second time in as many tries, Grave Digger driver Randy Brown would emerge as the winner. He gave the crowd some massive Long Jumps and huge Donuts on route to a score of 24 points. Backdraft driver Jeremy Slifko earned second place with a nice run and a score of 19 points, while Pure Adrenalin was third with 18. Fourth place went to Instigator with 17 points, while the fifth and final spot went to Eradicator with a 16 point effort. The third and final event of the weekend gets underway at 1:00 P.M. sharp on Sunday here at Scotia Speedworld. With a very promising weather forecast on the horizon, the grandstands are sure to be packed. Join us tomorrow for all the action!! (Darren Pallen, Monster Jam Announcer)

Sunday:

The third and final Partsource Monster Jam got underway at 1:00 P.M. sharp on Sunday afternoon.  All five Monster Trucks were ready to compete as were the stars from XSBA, Truck Drag Racing, and Truck Tug-Of-War.  The weather was beautiful and sunny, and the track was in perfect shape.  Fans were about to see one of the greatest Monster Jams ever here at Scotia Speedworld.
Monster Jam action started off with a big win by Jeremy Slifko in Backdraft in the hotly-contested Wheelie Competition.  Backdraft’s score of 22 edged out second place Pure Adrenalin who scored 21.  Third was Grave Digger at 16, while Eradicator took fourth with a score of 12.  Instigator rounded out scoring with a 10 point effort.
Monster Jam Racing Round One saw Backdraft get the Bye Run.  In paired action, Grave Digger defeated Instigator, while Eradicator drove past Pure Adrenalin.  In the Semi-Final, Backdraft returned to defeat Fast Loser Instigator, while Grave Digger disposed of Eradicator.
The Race Auto Group Monster Jam Racing Final paired Grave Digger against Eradicator.  Although Andy Slifko got a great start in Eradicator, Randy Brown’s Grave Digger would prove to be too smooth through the corners.  At the checkered flag, it was all Grave Digger.
In the Monster Jam Donut Competition, Lionel Easler in Instigator captured his first win of the weekend with a score of 21 points.  Backdraft scored 19, while Eradicator ended up with 18 points.  Pure Adrenalin scored 11 points, and Grave Digger was unable to compete due to mechanical problems.
Partsource Monster Jam Freestyle Competition was a wild affair which saw Randy Brown in Grave Digger absolutely destroy both the competition and the crush cars.  Although his machine was suffering both transmission and differential problems, Brown chose to ignore these difficulties and drove Grave Digger to the absolute limit.  Brown extended his sixty second run to over two minutes as he brought the screaming crowd to its feet.  The drivers earned the following final scores:

Backdraft             21
Instigator             17
Pure Adrenalin  15
Eradicator            17
Grave Digger      24
FREESTYLE WINNER: GRAVE DIGGER!

As is the norm here in this beautiful Canadian province, Nova Scotia fans had a great time enjoying the fantastic efforts brought to them by the stars of Monster Jam.  We look forward to returning to Halifax’s Scotia Speedworld in 2010 for even more top-notch motor sports action.
