Weekend Race Recap
Beaumont, TX (February 23-24-25, 2001)
Friday Girls Rule in Beaumont!! Dawn Creten of Scarlet Bandit won Friday nights racing, she powered her truck to victory over all the men. Trucks in competition were Dragon Slayer, Bounty Hunter, Scarlet Bandit, Cyborg, Tuff E Nuff and Big Trouble.
In monster truck freestyle Dragon Slayer went completely over on his left side and powered out onto all four wheels in one of the best freestyles that Beaumont, Texas as ever seen. But it was Bounty Hunter, driven by Jimmy Creten, that scored a perfect 30 to take the win.
In Pro Race Trucks - Darren Frye and the Lil Beast blew away the competition by 2 seconds.

Dragon Slayer gave the crowd a show like no other!! A huge power wheelie in freestyle had the crowd wanting more as they left the fairgrounds from the matinee performance.
Scarlet Bandit put the boots to the boys again for her 2nd win of the weekend. She beat out Dragon Slayer in side-by-side finals.
Pro Race Trucks - Tuff N Ugly driven by Dan Sutter drove a strong race and came up with the win in another tightly contested race.
Quad Wars - Team Texas beat Team Louisana for the 2nd win of the weekend. It was another close boarder competition!!
Saturday 8:00 PM
It was warm and windy tonight in the great city of Beaumont. It definitely created an atmosphere for a woman to dominate the men in the USHRA competition. Dawn Creten, one of the top women drivers on the USHRA Monster Jam circuit, took her third win in a row in side-by-side racing. This evening she beat her husband, Jimmy Creten, the driver of Bounty Hunter in the finals. We'll see Sunday afternoon if she can make it a perfect weekend with another win!! The power and determination of Dawn Creten was the talk of the raceway!!
Sunday
Dawn Creten, won her fourth event of the weekend. It was Scarlet Bandit versus Dragon Slayer in the finals with Scarlet Bandit taking the victory. In monster freestyle, Dragon Slayer won with a score of 25. Big Trouble came in 2nd place with a score of 24. |
