Montgomery, Ala.,welcomed Monster Jam with open arms this weekend. Monster trucks God, Guts and Glory (Melissa Stathas), Ragin Steel (Chad Tingler), Brutus (Chris Bergeron), Avenger (Jim Koehler), and Little Tiger (Brian Barthel) plus two teams of quad war racers and group of law mower racers gave locals a reason to fill Garrett Coliseum.

 

A Chicago-style three-hit monster truck racing course provide thrills galore for fans.  Monsters also had five car decks and a three car/van/car pyramid for freestyle. 

 

Avenger flipped in round one of racing competition.  After the truck was put back upright, Jim Koehler and his team fixed Avenger up and drove off, but couldn't beat Brutus in the racing finals.

 

Avenger took another beating when Ragin Steel clocked him during the elimitation rounds. 

However, Avenger had his moment in Monster Truck Freestyle, clearing the floor and taking the Friday night title.

 

Little Tiger, driven by Bartel won the Doughnut contest and Wheelie Contest.

In Quad War racing Team Montogomery defeated Team Birmingham in the finals.  Each team won a heat race.  There was great passing in the finals; the race winner came from third from the final turn to take the win. 

 

Lawn Mower racing had some seriously fast action with three different winners in the three different races.

Saturday
Fans at the Montgomery, Ala., Garrett Coliseum were treated to a spectacular Monster Jam this Saturday night when three (3) monster truck driver tied with for the Donut competition.  Avenger, Brutus, and Little Tiger all turned the judges heads equally with multiple 28's.

 

Before getting into the nitty-gritty of Monster Truck competition, Lawm Mower racing provided fast-paced action and three different winners in the three rounds of racing.

 

In Quad War competition Team Montgomery beat Team Birmingham in the final round of racing.

 

As for our Monster Trucks: on the Chicago-style racing course Little Tiger won the racing.  Avenger won the wheelie contest.  Avenger, Brutus, and Little Tiger won the Donut contest.  God, Guts and Glory won Freestyle by 1 point!
