The Kansas Coliseum was rocked tonight as the Thunder National tour blazed through Wichita, Kansas. The near full house was first treated to Monster Truck Wheelie action. The best wheelie were Predator driven by Larry Jarzel.

The next event of the night was Donuts. Who was going to lay down the best donut? The crowd decided that the winner would be Neil Elliot driving Maximum Destruction.

Next the show went into the Monster Truck Racing. The Monsters qualified one truck at a time. The brackets were then set for racing. The field of 6 was narrowed to just two trucks, Predator vs. Rolling Thunder. The finish was extremely close. The judges gave the McDonald’s Racing Final win to Rolling Thunder driven by Jim Bendzick.

The final event of the night was the Toyota Truck Monster Truck Freestyle. 60 seconds, anything goes in Freestyle tonight. The highest score of the night went to the vary last truck, Neil Elliot driving the famous Maximum Destruction.

The sell out crowd at Kansas Coliseum was treated to a GREAT SHOW! One of the best Thunder Nationals I have ever seen. The crowd was pumped the entire show.

The event started off with Monster Truck Wheelie Contest. The scores started low and went higher, peaked on Rolling Thunder and then went low again. The high score of 24 went to our winner, Rolling Thunder driven by Birthday Boy Jim Bendzick.

Keeping the momentum going, Rolling Thunder came out first for the Donut Contest. His score was again 24. It looked like Bendzick would take another victory. The last truck in the Donut Contest came away with a 1 point victory. Maximum Destruction driven by Neil Elliot was the winner.

The McDonald’s Monster Truck Racing was up next. The trucks came out one at a time for Qualifying. The Qualifying was used to set the brackets. The field was narrowed to just Two Trucks. The Final would be Devastator, driven by Mark Schrader, vs. Maximum Destruction. The race was super close. The McDonald’s Racing Winner tonight would be Maximum Destruction.

The crowd was even more excited now than they were the whole night. The final event of the night was Toyota Truck Freestyle. The judges were very fair tonight and we had really close scoring for the Freestyle Contest. The best Freestyle of the night was the very last truck. Maximum Destruction let it all hang out for the full house. Neil Elliot hit the van stack and launched about 20 feet up into the air. The crowd went nuts. Maximum Destruction took the victory for the second night in a row with a score of 29.

All of the action continues tomorrow for a 2pm matinee.

It wasn’t your typical Sunday Thunder Nationals Event, It was a Maximum Destruction Day! The crowd was pumped the entire event. They got louder and louder and the trucks got crazier and crazier. Neil Elliot, driver of Maximum Destruction told the crowd early on that he had all week to fix his truck and he was going to let loose today.

The first order of business of the afternoon was Monster Truck Wheelie Contest. The scores got higher seemingly after each two trucks. Cyborg and Bob and Tom both scored 20’s. Then Rolling Thunder and Devastator scored 27’s. Then Predator pulled out a 28. The final truck in the wheelie contest stood the truck straight up and down for what seemed like an eternity. The winner was Maximum Destruction with the only perfect score of the day, a 30.

The second event of the day was Monster Truck Donut contest. The scores got higher again with each truck, but they were extremely close scores. The high score was again Maximum Destruction with a 29.

The McDonalds Monster Truck Racing Final was awesome. In the first round, Maximum Destruction defeated Cyborg, Devastator defeated Predator, and Rolling Thunder defeated Bob & Tom Show. The second round got closer. Maximum Destruction defeated Predator (fast loser), and Devastator defeated Rolling Thunder. The stage was now set for the McDonalds Final. Maximum Destruction got the whole shot and never looked back. Taking the victory was Maximum Destruction.

The final event of the day was Toyota Truck Monster Truck Freestyle. The judges were ready, and the fans were ready. 60 seconds of mayhem. The scores went up and down this time. Once again the winner was Maximum Destruction with a score of 29. Rolling Thunder coming in second with a 25 and Devastator rounded out the top three with a 24.
