Friday 7:30PM-
WOW! The sell out crowd was on their feet as Monster Jam blasted into the Tingley Coliseum tonight. Three events for the Monsters plus Street Warriors and Quad FMX.
The first event of the evening was Monster Jam Wheelie Competition. A change in the format tonight for the lucky fans. Each truck would get hits on the crush cars to get awesome wheel stands. Three judges had their work cut out for them. At the end of the competition, there was a tie. Iron Outlaw and Bounty Hunter both had 27's. The crowd would have to decide the winner. The loudest cheers went to Jimmy Creten in Bounty Hunter.
The second event was Monster Jam Racing. Eight great trucks showed up tonight and one driver would be the fastest. The first round was Bounty Hunter getting a bye run because McGruff did not make the start. The second race Candice Jolly in Monster Mutt Dalmation would have mechanical problems off the start and would not move. The win would go to Albuquerque's own Charles Bens in Pit Bull. The next race would have Iron Outlaw getting the win over Tuff E Nuff. The final race in round one would have an upset. Obsession defeated Escalade.Semi-Finals: Bounty Hunter defeated local truck Pit Bull and Iron Outlaw defeated Obsession. The finals would have the two teamates head to head. Another special treat for the fans would be one extra lap in the racing final. Bounty Hunter had the early lead and looked to have the win. With less than one lap to go, Jimmy went a little wide and got sideways on the cars. This gave the advantage to Linsey Weenk in Iron Outlaw.
Also tonight the crowd was treated to Quad FMX. The riders would get two rounds to show off their skills. The crowd would decide that Caleb Moore was the best freestyler tonight. We also had 3 top Street Warrior from New Mexico. Timed rounds would decide the fastest truck, Mike Lury in Outta Control.
The final event of the night was definetly the crowd favorite, Monster Jam Freestyle. Each truck would have 60 seconds to tear the place apart. The scores started off low with the first two trucks, but then got higher with Obsession, Rick Swanson turning the first donuts of the night. Obsession would score a 24. That would hold up until Iron Outlaw would come out and go over the Quad FMX landing ramp. Linsey Weenk would take over the leader board with a 25. Weenk's boss would be next up and would get a little higher score with a 25. The competition got better again with George Belhan in Escalade earning a 27. The final truck of the night would be the 2005 World Freestyle Champion, Jimmy Creten in Bounty Hunter. Creten would hit every obstical in his way at high speeds. Bounty Hunter would take the win with a high score of 29. Bounty Hunter the Freestyle Winner.
Saturday 7:30PM -
Another sell out, another rockin show! The crowd was on their feet for most of Monster Jam tonight. Three different events for the Monsters. A couple of extra treats for the fans. In Monster Jam Wheelie Competition, the trucks would hit two sets of cars instead of just one, and in Monster Truck Racing, in the final round the two trucks would complete one extra lap.
The first exciting event tonight would be Monster Jam Wheelie Competition. Local driver, Jack Koberna would set the bar with two awesome wheel stands and would score a 24. That score would hold up for a little while. The fourth truck out would put his truck almost straight up and down. Rick Swanson in Obsession would score a 29. Was that going to be high enough for the next four trucks? Monster Mutt Dalmation would be next earning a 24. Then came Iron Outlaw getting a 23. The cars started getting a little warn down now. Next would be Escalade and then Bounty Hunter, both getting 26's. The Wheelie winner would be Obsession.
The second event of the night would be Monster Jam Racing. Eight really fast trucks racing in Chicago style Monster Jam Bracket Racing. Round One: Bounty Hunter defeated Tuff E Nuff, Iron Outlaw defeated Obsession, Escalade defeated McGruff, and Monster Mutt Dalmation defeated Pit Bull. Semi-Finals: Teamates faced off in both semi-final races. Iron Outlaw who has been on a racing tear defeated Bounty Hunter, and George Belhan in Escalade defeated Candice Jolly in Monster Mutt Dalmation. The Finals would be Great! Plus one extra lap for the round. The trucks were almost dead even. Across the finish line, the trucks were very close. Esclade was the first to cross the Ford Finish Line but the officials decided that all four tires did not go over the last stack of cars giving the win to Iron Outlaw.
The final event of the night would be Monster Jam Freestyle. One truck at a time. Sixty second of mayhem for each truck. The drivers could hit anything on the floor. Including the landing ramp from Quad FMX. Also, there was a van pyramid. Forwards, backwards, donuts, and wheelies. What ever they wanted to do. Tuff E Nuff would be first and score a 24. McGruff would get a 18. Local driver, Charles Benns would have a mechanical problem and score a 16. Up Next would be Obsession earning a 24. Then out of the tunnel came Monster Mutt Dalmation. Candice would do the longest donut and wave to the fans out of her roof hatch. The judges gave her a 27. Blasting out next would be the 2006 most improved driver, Iron Outlaw. The judges would give Linsey Weenk a 27. Now a tie ontop of the leader board. The crowd got on their feet as George Belhan in Escalade took the floor. Escalade hit every obstacale on the track including the big dirt landing ramp. The score would be a 28 for Escalade. The final truck of the night would be Jimmy Creten in Bounty Hunter. Creten would carry the most momentium of all of the drivers. Tearing up the floor and all of the cars in his way. The score would be 30 for the 2005 World Freestyle Champion. Bounty Hunter was the Freestyle Winner.
Sunday -
Another packed house, another amazing Monster Jam. Once again three different events for the Monsters. Added to the Monster Jam would be two special treats, in Wheelies the drivers would hit two sets of cars, and in Racing the drivers in the Final would go one extra lap.
Wheelie Competition would get the event started this afternoon. One truck at a time and two sky wheelies for each truck. The judges were being very particular today. The scores were fairly low, but were good for each driver. Obsession was the fourth truck out and would try to make it two Wheelie wins in a row here. Rick Swanson would score a 23. That score would hold up until the final contestant, Jimmy Creten in Bounty Hunter. The 2005 World Freestyle Champion would get huge air on both stacks. The win would go to Bounty Hunter with a 25.
Monster Jam Racing quickly followed. Round One: Bounty Hunter stayed on the floor and defeated McGruff, Iron Outlaw defeated Tuff E Nuff, Obsession would cross the Ford Finish Line first but would get a 5 second penalty giving the win to Monster Mutt Dalmation, and Escalade defeated local driver Charles Benns in Pit Bull. Semi-Finals: teamates going head to head in each race. Bounty Hunter put and end to the win streak of Iron Outlaw, and Escalade would defeat Candice Jolly in Monster Mutt Dalmation. The finals were set and were going to be awesome with the addition of one extra lap. Both trucks took off the line evenly. After the first lap they were still even. The final lap Bounty Hunter took the lead and would get the Racing Win.
Monster Jam Freestlye would be the last event of the weekend here at the Tingley Colesium. Eight trucks, one at a time for sixty seconds. The scores started getting higher now. Iron Outlaw, who is the 2006 Most Improved Monster Jam driver would get a perfect score of 30 by hitting everything on the floor and getting huge air. The next truck would come out and tear the place down. George Belhan in Escalade would go crazy. At the end of the run Escalade would end up on its side. Belhan climbed out and was extremely excited. The judges would score Escalade a 29. The crowd was going crazy. It didn't seem like they like the third judge. The final truck would be Bounty Hunter. Creten had to get a perfect score to tie with his teamate. The judges gave Bounty Hunter a 26. The Freestyle Winner would be Iron Outlaw.
