Weekend Race Recap
Monster Jam was back at the Metro dome for a second time in less than 2 months. The difference between tonight and last month was the record number of monster trucks that were here tonight, SIXTEEN!
We started the night off with qualifying on a very fast and newly redesigned race track called a cyclone. The fastest qualifier was T-Maxx with a 27.31 followed by El Matador with a 27.39 and the rest of the field was split by only 2.03 seconds. In round one there was some very close racing and some mental mistakes made by some true veterans and the same happened in round two through the finals. T-Max was the fastest and made it to the finals were he took on El Matador in the fastest race of the night. When the green light flashed El Matador had the slight lead but after the third and final turn T-Max blasted to the finish line and took the Sub Way eat fresh racing win.
Freestyle was run differently this time as we started off with three trucks that lost in round one racing and let them freestyle first. We continued to do the same as we raced one round then freestyled one round until the final eight trucks remained. Captains Curse won the freestyle with a perfect score of thirty and was worth the price of admission. Alex Blackwell drove the truck just as Pablo did at the World Finals and the crowd was on there feet. Rolling Thunder and El Matador also thru in some awesome runs with scores of 22 and 28. In all the full field of sixteen scored very close to each other through the night
Here are all the results.
