Weekend Race Recap

Friday Night:  The Monster Jam World Tour blasted into Tupelo tonight for an exciting night.  The fans would be treated to four different events with six awesome trucks.  With the World Finals getting close, the drivers were driving really hard.

The first event would be the Monster Jam Wheelie Competition.  One truck at a time and one hit on the crush cars.  The truck with the highest score would be the winner.  The scores were in the teens until Steve Sims came out in Stone Crusher.  Stone Crusher would put the truck on the tailgate and take the lead.  That score would be high enough to hold onto the win.

The second event would be Monster Jam Racing.  Round One:  Captain's Curse defeated Instigator, Stone Crusher defeated Mopar Magic, and Eliminator would get a bye run as Grave Digger had a cut tire from the Wheelie Competition.  Semi-Finals:  Captain's Curse defeated Mopar Magic (fast looser), and Eliminator driven by Greg Adams defeated Stone Crusher.  There would be an extra lap added to the racing final.  Alex Blackwell behind the wheel of Captain's Curse would lead right off the start and would never look back.  Captain's Curse would be the Race Winner.

Next would be the Monster Jam Wheelie Competition.  Captain's Curse would go first so he could share a tire with Grave Digger.  Blackwell would score a 28.  The rest of the trucks had their work cut out with a high score right off the bat.  Nobody could get close to the 28 until Stone Crusher came out and did one of the longest Donuts I have ever seen.  The smoke was pouring off of all 4 tires.  The judges would give Stone Crusher a perfect score of 30.  That would be enough for the victory.

The final event of the night would be Monster Jam Freestyle.  One truck at a time and sixty seconds of anything goes.  The judges did a great job tonight.  Instigator scored a 20, then Mopar Magic scored a 24.  Greg Adams in Eliminator ended up with a 19.  Stone Crusher would take the lead with a 27.  Grave Digger would go next and get a 22.  The final truck of the night would be Blackwell in Captain's Curse.  Blackwell would tear everything apart tonight and at the end of his run would end up upside down.  The judges gave Captain's Curse a 27.  One of the judges gave Blackwell a 10 and since he got a 10 he would be the winner.  Captain's Curse the Freestyle Winner.

Saturday Afternoon:  Monster Jam World Tour was back in action this Saturday afternoon in Tupelo.  Six awesome trucks and four different events for the fans today.  This afternoon we would have three different winners.

The first competition would be Monster Jam Wheelie Competition.  One hit on the cars.  We were looking for a straight up and down wheelie.  All of the scores would be in the twenties.  The wheelies were awesome again today.  The best wheelie would be Alex Blackwell in Captain's Curse and the judges agreed and gave him the win with a score of 27.

Next would be Monster Jam Racing.  The Racing would be Chicago Style Racing.  Each truck would go over cars three times.  The would finish on the same lane they started on.  Round One:  Stone Crusher defeated Eliminator, Captain's Curse defeated Instigator, and Mopar Magic defeated Grave Digger.  Semi-Finals:  Stone Crusher defeated Instigator (fast looser), and Captain's Curse defeated Mopar Magic.  The finals would give the fans an awesome race, plus the trucks would go an extra lap around the track.  Blackwell would again get the whole shot and never look back.  Captain's Curse would take the win.

Then we went into the Monster Jam Donut Competition.  The competition would be fantastic this afternoon.  The fans would see some of the longest donuts ever.  Instigator driven by Lionel Easler would take the lead with a perfect score of 30.  The rest of the drivers had their work cut out.  Mopar Magic would get a 28 followed by Eliminator with a 20.  The Stone Crusher would come out and have trouble getting his donuts going.  Then Steve Sims would get up and over and end his run short.  The judges gave Stone Crusher a 15.  Then Captain's Curse would turn donuts for what seemed like forever.  The judges gave Blackwell a 29.   The last truck would be Rod Schmidt in Grave Digger.  Schmidt saw all of his competition and let the Black and Green Wrecking Machine spin in a perfect circle for even longer than Captain's Curse.   The crowd went crazy.  The judges gave Digger a 30.  The Monster Jam Officials would give the win to Grave Digger.

The final event of the afternoon would be Monster Jam Freestyle.  Sixty seconds, anything goes on the floor.  The track crew built up the racing lanes.  The scores were really close.  Steve Sims in Stone Crusher has been running hard all weekend.  He wanted to show these fans why he has already qualified for the Monster Jam World Finals.  Sims would come out forth and tear up everything in his path.  Sims would score a high of 29.  Stone Crusher would be the Freestyle Winner.

Saturday Night:  A packed house was in the Bancorp South Arena for Monster Jam tonight.  Tonight we would have six awesome competitors and four different competitions for each driver.

The first event of the night would be Monster Jam Wheelie Competition.  The judges would have their work cut out tonight scoring three different events for the Monster Jam drivers.  The scores were really close in the Wheelie Competition.  The high score with a Sweet Wheelie would be Rod Schmidt in Grave Digger.  The high score would be 27.

Then we would have Monster Jam Racing.  The drivers all went into the stands before the Event started tonight and picked out lucky fans to draw for their starting positions in the Racing.  Round One:  Captain's Curse defeated Grave Digger, Instigator defeated Stone Crusher, and Eliminator defeated Mopar Magic.  Semi-Finals:  Captain's Curse defeated Stone Crusher (fast looser), and Eliminator defeated Instigator.  The finals would go an extra lap.  Five hits on the crush cars.  Captain's Curse would get the win and that would be 3 for 3 this weekend in Tupelo.

The track crew decided to change up the show tonight.  Next would be Monster Jam Freestyle.  One truck at a time, sixty seconds anything goes.  The scores were again really close.  The win would go to the Best Save I have seen this year by Alex Blackwell in Captain's Curse.  The judges agreed and scored Captain's Curse with a 27.  Captain's Curse would be the Winner!

The final event of the weekend would be Monster Jam Donut Competition.  The smoke would be barreling off of the tires tonight.  All of the drivers would do Wicked Donuts.  The final truck would be Rod Schmidt in Grave Digger.  Schmidt was a little disappointed after coming up short in Freestyle.  Grave Digger would take the win with a score of 27.
