Friday 7:30

Friday Night, standing room only and 6 of the greatest trucks and drivers all in one place are the ingredients for an incredible show. This is the second year that I have had the pleasure of announcing this event here in Reno and it has become my favorite. This arena is easily the biggest arena the drivers get to race in all year outside of stadium shows. This is the only event that I get to watch the world’s greatest monster truck drivers race on a track other that single lane. The Chicago style track set up is easily a fan favorite as well.
With the weather playing a factor in the arrival of Pablo Huffaker, we didn’t know if he would make it when we found out he was delayed in Dallas, TX. well make it he did just in time for intro's. and he kept making it all night with a clean sweep, wheelie winner, racing winner and freestyle as well.
Wheelie Results:
Captain USA                  9
TMNT                             15
Airborne Ranger            19
Blue Thunder                 18
Batman                          24
Grave Digger                 26

In the racing the odds on favorite had to be the 2007 world finals racing champion John Seasock and Batman. Sometimes a championship and being a favorite doesn’t get you very far. When you have a target on your back and that title everyone wants a piece of you. They got it tonight Aaron Basl and TMNT would meet Grave Digger in the finals. They met in round one and TMNT won that match-up but it would be Pablo Huffaker who would have the last laugh and claim the racing title on Friday night.
If Batman was the favorite in racing the Pablo and Grave Digger was the in freestyle. As I stated earlier Grave Digger did not let his fans down. He used every inch of the arena floor and hit every obstacle more than once. The crowd rewarded him with a standing ovation that lasted what seemed to be for several minutes.
Freestyle Results:
TMNT                          19
Airborne Ranger         16
Captain USA               23
Blue Thunder              26
Batman                       21
Grave Digger               27

Saturday once again was an incredible show. The superstars of monster jam entertained the nearly sold out afternoon crowd. Mike Wine and Blue Thunder had the crowd pumped up from the pit party on. He and all the superstars did not disappoint.

Blue Thunder did as he promised and took the wheelie win by nearly ripping off his tailgate on the top of the cars. The win was the first for a non Grave Digger truck this weekend.

Wheelie Results:

Captain USA                            18

TMNT                                       15

Airborne Ranger                      16

Blue Thunder                           23

Batman                                    20

Grave Digger                            21

All the trucks found the track a little more difficult than last night. For instance the 2007 world racing champ John Seasock and Batman found himself losing the back end of the truck on one end of the track. The blue set of cars was sending the Monsters to the left side of the cars where they wouldn't be set up for the sharp left that was next. But in the end it all ended up the same as last night. Pablo Huffaker and Grave Digger would knock off Aaron Basl and TMNT in the Burger King Monster Jam Racing Finals.

Freestyle Results:

TMNT                                      19

Airborne Ranger                     16

Captain USA                           26

Blue Thunder                          21

Batman                                  13

Grave Digger                          27

Freestyle once again was the crowds favorite as the bar was set high early as Jeff Bainter and Captain USA nailed a perfect slap wheelie during his run to a 26. With the highest score this weekend so far being 27 the 26 was enough to make the other Monsters step up their game. Step it up they did but unfortunately during Batmans run he broke and was unable to finish his run. Grave Digger once again set his sights on the big van stack going higher each and every hit. The judges rewarded him with another 27 and a freestyle win.

Saturday 7:30

With a capacity crowd in the events center the electricity was so thick you could cut it with a knife. The crowd was ready for the monsters to rip apart the arena here in Reno. In the wheelie contest once again we would have a new winner for the 3rd straight show. Jeff Bainter and Captain USA set the bar at a level I didn't know if it could be beat when he turned in a 25. Aaron Basl and TMNT followed suit with a 24. But none could top John Seasocks Batman and his 29 point wheelie.

Wheelie Results:

Captain USA                                     25

TMNT                                                24

Airborne Ranger                               21

Blue Thunder                                    26

Batman                                             29

Grave Digger                                    27

The racing would see two reigning world  champions  meet  head to head in the racing finals. Grave Digger  with Pablo Huffaker behind the wheel would meet John Seasock and Batman in the racing final.  Batman had it won in fact he was first to the Ford finish line but he went off course and received a penalty so Grave Digger once again was your racing champion.

Freestyle Results:

TMNT                                             24

Airborne Ranger                            22

Captain USA                                  26

Blue Thunder                                 27

Batman                                          25

Grave Digger                                 30

The toughest round of freestyle yet this weekend with the lowest score being 22. Each and every truck had to continue to raise the bar every run. Mike Wine and Blue Thunder had as far as I'm concerned the freestyle run of the weekend until Grave Digger took to the arena floor. Hitting everything from every angle and not stopping until he ran out of fuel. Stopping the black and green wrecking machine on top of the van stack to a perfect 30!

Sunday 2pm

This weekend has drawn the best crowd in Reno in quite sometime. This event sold out 3 out of 4 performances and the crowd was well entertained. The superstars of monster jam may have saved the best for last. The racing may have been the closest of all weekend and even Joe Cypher and American Guardian the hometown hero made it back to the semi finals, making it his best finish of the weekend.

Wheelie Results:

Captain USA                                 20

TMNT                                            20

Airborne Ranger                           17

Blue Thunder                               26

Batman                                        23

Grave Digger                               21

In the racing as I told you earlier it was the closest of the weekend but the final 2 were the same as 2 of the 3 performances this weekend. Gave Digger and TMNT would meet once again on Sunday afternoon. The result would be the same as it was all weekend Pablo Huffakers Grave Digger would cross the Ford finish line first. This made it a clean sweep in racing for the weekend. Pablo said all he has to do is win freestyle and it would be the perfect weekend for the black and green wrecking machine.

Freestyle Results:

TMNT                                         22

Airborne Ranger                        17

Captain USA                              26

Blue Thunder                             26

Batman                                      19

Grave Digger                             25

As you can see Grave Digger did not finish off the weekend with a sweep in freestyle. We had a tie between Mike Wine and Blue Thunder and Jeff Bainter and Captain USA. The was the difference when the round of applause told us that Blue Thunder would be your Sunday afternoon Freestyle champion.
