Weekend Race Recap

   Friday 7:30

An awesome crowd was on hand again for the fifth consecutive year that Monster Jam has invaded Toledo Ohio and the Toledo speedway. Six of the best Monster Trucks battled it out in Racing and Freestyle.

Qualifying was first on the agenda and Safe Auto was the fastest with a time of 22.13 on the mile track. Grave Digger followed with a time of 23.00 as Full Boar was next with a 24.41. With almost a full second between the trucks you couldn't tell when the racing started. Escalade won his first race against Safe Auto only to meet him again in the semi finals as Safe Auto was the fast looser. Grave Digger won in round one with a very close race over Rapp Attack that broke on a hard landing over the finish line. Full Boar also advanced with his win over Bad Habit. Escalade continued his streak as he again defeated Safe Auto and Digger squeaked out another win over Full Boar. In the finals Escalade took out Digger on the extra lap race when Digger gave up due to and over heating engine.

Freestyle was down to five trucks as Rap Attack was still out with heavy damage. Full Boar scored first with a 13 leaving the track with out doing his signature doughnuts. Bad Habit and the rookie Joe Sylvester had the fans on there feet with a solid run and a score of 19. Safe Auto was next and took over the lead with some awesome slap wheelies and great air for a score of 23. Escalade tried to knock him out of the hot seat but ended with a score of 18. Grave Digger was last to go but failed to fill the full 90 second run and came up short with a score of 12. Digger had broke a right rear planetary and again was over heating. Charlie Paulken who normally drives Digger here was helping me out on the mic tonight and promised the crowd that the Black and Green wrecking machine will be ready for tomorrow night.

   Saturday 7:30

The Monster Jam fans in Toledo, Ohio rocked the house when their favorite Monster Trucks hit the track. The night was filled with spills and thrills as six of the best Monster Trucks battled it out on the asphalt track.

Escalade repeated as the the 1-800 Safe Auto racing champion and Safe Auto Minimizer did the same in the Monster Jam Merchandise Freestyle competition. Yes? Grave Digger was here but was plagued with over heating issues and a roll over in the first 30 seconds of his Freestyle run. Another high light was up and riseing star Joe Sylvester in Bad Habbit who raised the bar with his fresstyle performance that left the fans on their feet screaming for more. Also Full Boar roared off one of his signature doughnuts that go so fast that Ed has to do it last in his freestyle run because he gets so dizzy.

      Here are tonights results:

Safe Auto beats Rap Attack in round one as well as Grave Digger defeating Bad Habit. Escalade would make it to the finals by defeating Full Boar and Grave Digger. Safe Auto beat Fast loser Rap Attack to make his way to the finals. Escalade had the track figured out all weekend and beat Safe Auto by a truck length.

Freestyle = Full Boar 13, Bad Habit 19, Rap Attack 13, Safe Auto 23 your winner, Escalade 21, and Grave Digger 8 with a roll over. Even though Grave Digger didn't win tonight Rod Schmidt stayed in the over turned truck until they rolled it back over to give the fans some more.
