TRUCK HISTORY

Dennis Anderson came up with the concept for Grave Digger®, the sport’s marquee monster truck, back in 1981. Originally built out of an old 1957 Chevy Panel Wagon and parts that he scrounged from junkyards, the Grave Digger of today has grown by leaps and bounds. No longer do the trademark red headlights come off of old school buses, and the paint job has changed from a dull orange to the famous green and black flame motif we see today.

Not only is Grave Digger the most famous monster truck in the world, it’s one of the most decorated as well. Anderson has won Monster Jam World Finals championships three times, capturing the racing title in 2004 and 2006, and the freestyle title in 2000.

Right now, there are six Grave Digger monster trucks currently competing in Monster Jam, featuring one of the most solid driver line-ups anywhere. Besides creator Dennis Anderson, Chad Tingler, Rod Schmidt, Randy Brown, Gary Porter, Charlie Pauken, and Pablo Huffaker also pilot versions of the legendary machine.
