“When there’s grass on the field, play ball” is a typical saying in Baseball, but stick and ball sports are not on the agenda this weekend at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas Nevada. There is plenty of grass on the Double Down field however, and instead of a leisurely pastime we are talking about 24 fire breathing monster trucks.
This is not kids play, this is the big time. I tell you what, if you hear one of these beasts fire up from less then 5 feet away, you will feel you rib cage shake! The power and energy on exhibit at this years 2008 Monster Jam NGK Spark Plugs World Finals is amazing. To be outside soaking up the clean crisp Las Vegas air and seeing 24 of the biggest baddest monster trucks on the planet go toe to toe on a course that is bound to leave a few of these beasts wadded up and packing it in early. Lets be honest, a 100 foot triple is an amazing site to see in person, let alone watching it approach from inside a monster truck! MonsterJamOnline.com talked to Dan Evans earlier today and he said for sure he is going to give the triple jump his best shot, if not he will attempt it backwards! Can you imagine that!

Either way, it’s good to be back in Las Vegas at the coolest baddest motorsport event of the year. I’m not going to give it all away just yet, but after talking to 10 or so drivers, I get a felling that this is going to be one Monster Jam NGK Spark Plugs World Finals you will not want to forget. This is a year that will go down in the record books.

Just looking at the shear amount of crush cars and van stacks makes one only imagine the amount of work that must be put in to make this all happen. It’s great to stand outside the Double Down gates on Friday morning and see all the excited Monster Jam fans waiting to crash down the gate and get autographs from all their favorite drivers. I just can wait to see those 24 trucks roar down Thunder Alley this Saturday!
